O thou who changest not, abide with me!

Much has changed in the two years since I started this blog … and last posted. But even more has stayed the same.

Changes:

  • From Lutheran elementary school teacher to Lutheran staff minister of music and worship, working outside the classroom the majority of the time
  • From a ministry setting in a small, quiet, suburban community to an intense, urban ministry setting with overwhelming opportunities to serve people with the love of Jesus (Our kids made the transition to the new school, too.)
  • From renting a large home and filling it with stuff to a return to the world of homeownership, but with a new emphasis on more minimalistic living
  • From 5+1 kids in the home to 4+1 (not the same 1) at home and 1 away at a ministerial preparatory high school

Stayed the same:

  • Still just as imperfect, sinful, and prone to ruining everything, but also still just as loved, forgiven, and redeemed through the blood of Christ
  • Still blessed with the amazing wife God picked for me over 17 years ago
  • Still looking forward to my heavenly home currently being prepared for me by Jesus my Savior
  • Still learning how to be the husband, father, and minister of the gospel God has called me to be
  • Still blessed to serve full time in a faithful Christian congregation and school, making music, training musicians, and leading people in worship, all to God’s glory

God be praised for his blessings that abound for eternal life and for the moment in which I currently stand!
